Zach is a 12-year-old boy currently attending Centennial Jr. High School. He and his amazing blended family of Mom, Dad, and six kids live in Kaysville. Zach loves Reading, Minecraft, Pokémon, and playing the cello. He loves Super Mario Bros. and bleeds blue for BYU, cheering them on every game (even though his favorite color is red).
In the fall of 2024, Zach began getting fevers with no other symptoms. The fevers would soon pass, and everything appeared normal. Another fever would come a few weeks later and then disappear. However, by January, the fevers were coming every few days. On January 20, 2025, he went into his pediatrician's office, and after running labs on his blood, the doctor called and sent Zach immediately to the emergency room. On January 24th, his team of doctors came in with the results of his blood marrow test: Zach had B-ALL, B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. 80% of his marrow was leukemia cells.
It has been a rollercoaster of emotions these past months, but Zach has been so strong and brave through it all. His quiet demeanor and patience through adversity are awe-inspiring. His family is so grateful for the kindness of others in our community and the prayers from so many that keep them going.
