Our Wall of Hope Recipient for The Wizard of Oz is a 33-year-old mother of 4 children. She received her diagnosis 1 year ago. She has triple-negative breast cancer (only found in 10% of breast cancer cases), one year after her twin girls came home from the NICU. She had 16 rounds of chemo in her first 12 weeks of treatment and didn’t miss a day of work at King Elementary, where she is a Special Needs teacher for children K-3.

Mrs. Holly Elliot underwent a bilateral mastectomy on June 3, 2026. She and her husband, Dustin, have been married for 8 years and are parents to 2 boys: 13-year-old Grayden and 6-year-old Nolan. They also have twin girls named Jovee and Austyn, who are 18 months old.

In addition to teaching children with special needs, she has also become an unofficial mentor to many of the 6th-grade children at King Elementary. They are so grateful for her consistent love and advice. Her capacity for compassion and love became evident at an incredibly early age when, in elementary school, she volunteered to read to the kids with special needs instead of joining her class outside for recess. Both of Holly’s parents are from Texas. Her father served in the Air Force, so the family traveled the world until Holly was in 6th grade. That year, the family moved to Utah. Holly has 2 brothers and 2 adopted cousins/sisters.

Holly is an amazing advocate for her students at school and used those advocacy skills to encourage her skeptical primary care provider that she needed to have a PET scan. Thank heavens she did! The oncologist at Huntsman Cancer Center told her that her cancer is very aggressive and she needed to do large doses of chemo to fight its growth. She has undergone (2) 12-week rounds of chemo, a double mastectomy, and now will proceed with radiation therapy every day for 35 days. We are joining her during her radiation therapy.

Holly has incredible writing skills. She is sharing her cancer story on her Facebook page under her name: HOLLY ELLIOTT. She loves photography and creates beautiful parties for her children for every occasion.

Here are some of Holly’s favorite things:

Musical – Annie

Candy – Reese’s peanut butter cups
