Kenna Goodman

Kenna Goodman, at the age of 28 years old suffered from symptoms of vertigo for over 2 years. After MRI images showed a growth (bleeding) on her brain she underwent brain surgery to remove what doctors diagnosed to be a cavernous malformation (group of veins that swell and bleed). While still in the hospital recovering from surgery, lab results reported that Kenna did in fact have a cancerous brain tumor called MEDULLOBLASTOMA.

The first time in 2014 Kenna underwent brain surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy in hopes to destroy any cancer cells in her brain and spinal column. At that time she had three adorable children: 6, 4 and 1.

The cancer did come back in 2017; she had another brain surgery followed by more radiation therapy.

Then again in 2018 the cancer appeared again. She tried something new called StereotacticRadiosurgery (SRS)

Her children are now 11, 8 and 5. Every 2-3 months Kenna goes in for another MRI and then meets with the Oncologist (Cancer Doctor).

At this time Kenna is not doing any treatments, but know she will NEVER be in remission. The doctors told her not IF it comes back but WHEN it comes back.

Kenna has had the maximum allowable radiation to the brain and is not allowed to have any more radiation therapy.

Kenna has a lot of side effects such has hearing loss(hearing aids), vision loss (cotton spots), neuropathy, slurred speech and so on…

She likes to spend time with her family, making memories. She wants her husband and kids to know how much she loves them. She truly appreciates family, friends and those involved with the Hope Box Theater that have helped her along her journey.
