She is the founder and director of a children’s performing group called “Singing Connection.” For 25 years which raising her own four children, she brought the gift of music to literally thousands of other kids age 3 to 18 as she taught them to sing, dance, and perform – building both artistic skills and confidence as she loved and supported them. She was awarded teacher of the year at Crescent Elementary for 2017-2018 school year. On November 7th, 2018, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer which has metastasized to her liver. The cancer is inoperable. She started chemo therapy on December 10th, and is doing as many alternative therapies as she can to help boost her immune system and shrink the tumors. She maintains a hugely positive and grateful attitude stating, “I feel so blessed to have so many family members and friends that have shown me so much love and support. So many people have done so much for me, I can’t even believe it. I’m amazed at the generosity of so many people.”
